Friends
The average number of best friends an average American has is 3-4. I believe that to be true because that will result in your time and attention not being spread too thin. Once we were together, Pam shared that wonderful handful of friends with me.
When meeting Karen and Wally Owen’s, it was very obvious that both of them were Pam’s best friends. Their boys were also close friends with Brett and Greg. And Pam’s neighbors across the street, the Murphy’s were more than neighbors, they were family friends. I met her tennis friend Ardy and since then Ardy and her late husband, Willy were friends in our 25+ years wine club with couples that were my friends. We lived in Seattle for 5 years and two women, Bunny and Kayte became best friends to Pam. Another source of friends are with your own children and I saw the relationship Pam had with her own two sons, Brett and Greg and they are passing along to their adult sons a special quality handed down to them. I feel honored that during our 37 years together, we became and stayed best friends.
Below you will find some pictures of some very special friends in Pam’s life.
Our friend Bo and the Albelo's'. Bo drove with me to Portland and after a couple of days took Amtrak home. Pam and Bo and Carole were good friends the time we spent in Lompoc.

Ruth Simm's, Pam's Care Giver often during the last year of Pam's life and Karen Hamilton. Pam referred to Karen as the daughter she would have liked to have had. They had a Special relationship. Ruth Simm's , She was a friend to both Pam and myself, a very special human being. I'll never be able to thank her enough for being there for both of us. The above picture is Ruth talking to Karen Hamilton at Pam's 80th birthday party at Woodland Village in the spring of 2020.
Pam and me and Ruth Simm's at Pam;s 80th Birthday Party' To me Ruth became more than Pam's Care Giver. After Pam passed away on August 11th, both being Democrats we would watch the rise of Biden and the fall of Trump toasting Pam with a glass of Menage a Trois. When Pam was left with Ruth she was calm, quiet and smiling or sleeping the entire time I was gone. Pam liked Ruth and trusted her.
Hetty, Ardy, Keith and Miriam at the Gatewood's. With Gene and I there are 6 of us still in the 25 + year wine group still getting together.
This picture goes way back but when I 1st met Pam 38 years ago I quickly knew that these 2 people, Karen and Wally Owens were and would always be her best friends. Fortunately she shared them with me and the 4 of us had wonderful times together.
Pam's best friend in Lompoc was Ann Bockius and this is her husband Charlie. A talented guitar player and a fun person to be around. Aging has knocked us around but I try to keep in touch. I miss him and I know Ann misses Pam.
Rob Daniel Gone but not forgotten. He was my best friend when we spent almost 5 years in Seattle. Pam's loss has encouraged me to create this website to remember her and friends like Rob is a special gift ! Thank you Pam.
